I was fortunate being in Jogja on Sunday. I was told a day earlier to visit Sunday Morning market (Sunmor) around Gajah Mada university. I wasn't very much interested in the beggining. All that I imagine was the crowd over the seller and buyer - a market over campus area.
But somehow me and three other friends decide to went there, and surprisingly I saw an absurd situation where you won't believe your eyes, that one of the most famous university in Indonesia, turned into a market on its main street. Thousands poeple involved in the crowd and seem to me they've been enjoying their selves to find goods or various culinary.
Some of them may not be interested in buying something. They prefer to held a gathering or just to have some excercise, entertaining kids, or walk the dog. Anyway it's good for the campus and local government to allow such activity. I prefered to call this as 'all in one Sunday morning' ; shopping, selling, excercising, and refreshing spot. If you are in Jogja, or plan to go someday, have your time to enjoy the time on Sunday Morning Market.
