It has become my dreams to visit Merapi since I was assigned to be on duty in Adi Soemarmo airport in Solo for 42 days. No matter what it takes, as long as I can return safe I should be there and witness the damage caused by her eruption.
Still in Gendol River ( Kali Gendol ) I found a junior high school was destroyed by her gigantic fervency. With tons of volcanic ashes and rocks, it pulverized everything that standing on her way, leaving a massive damage and destroy everything. Not excepted the cheers of the children who used to be sitting there and listening the teacher, or chasing their dream to be the little Habibie, Michael Jordan, or at least their dreams to be well educated farmer. Now it all vanished with their houses or even with their beloved people and forced to graved their imagination along their fate to live on a refugee camps.
I photographed how the dreams and cheers vanished over the school detritus. I'VE BEEN THERE, AND PLEASE DONT BE THERE !!!
